An American corporation engaged in the development and distribution of video games. The company was founded on May 28, 1982 by Trip Hawkins and became one of the first in the gaming industry to begin popularizing the people directly involved in game development.
Electronic Arts has many subsidiaries that handle individual game series. The best known include BioWare, EA Sports, DICE, PopCap Games, Firemonkeys Studios and The Sims Studio.
